Union and RPI Sweep #1 Ranked Yale

Yale came into Friday night's game at Union College ranked #1 in the nation.  Just 26 hours later, they left the ice in RPI's Houston Field House with their second devastating loss of the weekend.  On Friday night, Coach Nate Leaman's Dutchmen upended Yale 3-2, handing the Bulldogs just their third loss of the season.  The following night, Seth Appert's Engineers routed Yale 5-2 to close out the weekend.

RPI and Union combined to sweep Brown this weekend as well, with RPI winning 3-0 on Friday and Union winning 4-2 on Saturday.  What an extraordinary weekend for local college hockey!  Union is now just one point behind Yale in the ECAC standings and RPI sits just four points back.  This should make for an exciting finish to the ECAC schedule and a fun ECAC tournament in March!  Unfortunately, Capital Region hockey fans will need to make the drive down to Atlantic City, NJ this year if they would like to support the local schools during the ECAC tournament.
